Every month we pick a participant is chosen as the rider of the month. The winners are chosen based on how well rider improves.

This months winner is:

JOSHUA BROUSSEAU

Since Joshua started going to Healing Horses over two years ago I have noticed many uplifting behavior changes.  Joshua has overcome several phobias since we started the program.  Joshua has become very comfortable with riding the horses now and is almost at the point of riding on his own.  He has overcome his phobia of walking in the dirt, especially wet dirt and grass.  For a long time I would have to carry Joshua from the car to the horse.  This was not always an easy task especially when he did not want to ride that day.  At the beginning Joshua would not participate in carrying objects or any other tasks while on the horse.
Joshua is now getting out of the car walking/running across the dirt and grass without any meltdowns and gets on his horse without issues.  When he rides he is very calm and relaxed and loves to “go fast”, he really enjoys trotting when he can.

All Stars of the Month receive a portrait of themselves by Rancho Mirage based TACook, a California portrait painter who has a family member in the program, a McDonalds Meal Gift Card from "Evergreen of the Desert, DBA: McDonalds" and a commerative certificate and as well as being highlighted on our website for the entire month.
